When you arrive at Entebbe International Airport you will be picked up by our welcoming guides onto which they will drive you to Kampala or Entebbe for dinner then we shall proceed to the Host’s Family where you will be staying as you prepare for travel, at this place you will receive accommodation, rest and meals.

On arrival from your country you will be picked up an Entebbe International Airport by our welcoming guests who will warmly receive you, they will then carry your luggage and place you into our service vehicle and we shall drive you through Kampala or Entebbe where you will a have dinner then we shall proceed to the host Family. From here we is where you will be staying before and after your different journeys.

When you are at the Host Family, we shall be able to feed you really well with a variety of local dishes from our Country such as Luwombo, Matooke, Millet (Kaalo) and be able to engage in different cultures the Home is large enough with full time internet access (WI-FI) and so many more.

 

Itinerary

Morning:
Meet with your guide for a briefing on your upcoming trek in the Rwenzoris. Discuss the itinerary, safety measures, and equipment needed for the journey.
Transfer to the Trailhead After breakfast, transfer to the trailhead at Nyakalengija (1,646 meters), the starting point for most treks in the Rwenzoris. Meet your porters and begin your trek into the mountains. Afternoon: Trek to Nyabitaba Hut Trek through lush montane forest, crossing streams and traversing steep terrain as you ascend to Nyabitaba Hut. Nyabitaba Hut is situated at an elevation of 2,652 meters and offers basic accommodation in dormitory-style rooms or camping facilities.

Morning: Ascend to John Matte Hut
After breakfast, continue your trek through the forest and bamboo zone, gradually gaining altitude.
Pass through the Kurt Shafer Bridge and ascend the steep Namusangi Valley, enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.
Afternoon: Arrival at John Matte Hut
Arrive at John Matte Hut, located at an elevation of 3,415 meters. This hut is situated in a beautiful location with views of the valley below and the towering peaks above.
Rest and acclimatize at John Matte Hut, and enjoy dinner prepared by your support team.

Morning: Traverse the Bigo Bog
Depart from John Matte Hut and trek through the scenic Bigo Bog, a vast alpine marshland known for its unique flora and birdlife.
Navigate boardwalks and wooden bridges to cross the boggy terrain.
Afternoon: Reach Bujuku Hut
Ascend steeply to reach Bujuku Hut, situated at an altitude of 3,962 meters.
Bujuku Hut is nestled in a valley surrounded by towering peaks, offering stunning views of Mount Stanley and Mount Speke.
Spend the afternoon resting and acclimatizing at Bujuku Hut, preparing for the challenging days ahead.
Return to Kasese and Departure
Arrive back at Nyakalengija and bid farewell to your guides and porters.
Transfer back to Kasese, where you can relax, celebrate your achievements, and reflect on your Rwenzori adventure.
Depart from Kasese, either by road to Kampala or by air from Kasese Airport, marking the end of your journey.
