Kitagata Hot Springs is a natural geothermal attraction located in the southwestern region of Uganda, near the town of Bushenyi.Kitagata Hot Springs is situated in the Ruhinda sub-county of Bushenyi district, approximately 40 kilometers (about 25 miles) from the town of Bushenyi. On arrival from your country you will be picked up an Entebbe International Airport by our welcoming guests who will warmly receive you, they will then carry your luggage and place you into our service vehicle and we shall drive you through Kampala or Entebbe where you will a have dinner then we shall proceed to the host Family. From here we is where you will be staying before and after your different journeys.

When you are at the Host Family, we shall be able to feed you really well with a variety of local dishes from our Country such as Luwombo, Matooke, Millet (Kaalo) and be able to engage in different cultures the Home is large enough with full time internet access (WI-FI) and so many more.

 

Itinerary

You will start your journey early from Kampala or Entebbe at your hotel to Kitagata hot springs. There are 2 hot springs at Kitagata one is known as Mulago it is said that it has the ability to heal sick people who bathe using the water hence it was named after one of the big hospitals in Uganda. Another hot spring at Kitagata is referred to as Ekyomugabe after the king of Ankole. After visiting the hot springs, you will also interact with the locals and visit a farm to get to know about the Ankole cattle and other cultural practices of the Ankole and later drive to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After having a cup of freshly brewed coffee or tea at the lodge, you will start your journey from Kitagata to Fort Portal via Kasese. During the drive to Fort Portal, you will enjoy beautiful views of the country side, terraced hills, seeing tea plantations among other attractions along the way

Breakfast will be served at the hotel your guide will drive you to Semuliki national park for a visit to the Sempaya hot springs. These hot springs are male and female hot springs and during the tour to the hot springs, you will learn a lot about them, boil eggs in the hot springs, engage in a nature walk and also see primates such as vervet monkeys and colobus monkeys and also see various bird species. You will also enjoy a boardwalk to the hot springs and hear folk stories of how the Sempaya hot springs were formed. After this tour, your guide will drive you back to Entebbe or Kampala back to your Hotel the following day
